The pottery is fired in an open fire, which can be built anywhere in an open space. Yo Khoanh has a special structure, which is a pit in the ground, 30-35cm deep for about 1.5m in diameter. It is called “băng trôm bup” (No literal translation has been found for the whole expression. “Trôm” refers to a hole, a pit; “bang” could be a classifier).
