Name of the mortar in Mnong language (Yang Tao village)

Yo Khoanh says the name of the mortar in Mnong. Those mortar are logs around 40cm high for 30cm wide, called “pal”. They are placed upside down to make pottery on their flat end. Nowadays, as large mortar and not so often used in households anymore, potters also use logs that are meant to be mortars, but do not have the pounding hole.

Yo Khoanh cho biết tên gọi của chiếc cối bằng tiếng Mnông. Cối là những khúc gỗ cao khoảng 40cm, rộng 30cm, gọi là “pal”. Người ta đặt úp cối xuống để làm đồ gốm trên mặt phẳng của cối. Ngày nay, vì cối lớn và không còn được sử dụng nhiều trong các gia đình nữa, người thợ gốm cũng chỉ dùng những khúc gỗ được dùng làm cối nhưng không có lòng trũng.
