A beam end as lever-rope anchor

A starboard beam end is used to provide the anchor for the rope anchoring a lever. The rope, held in place by temporary staples, passes under the hull to loop around the end of an anchor lever. The lever will press home a sheer-strake (dari) timber on the port side.
