Nafana mat weaver (deŋglɛ tinfun) Alexander Owusu uses his left thumb to press down on a raffia strand (pinde) that he has just folded from the outward to the inward side over top of a newly added weft strand, the short end of which extends downward and rightward below his left thumb. Four strands are wrapped in warp position on his left forefinger as he demonstrates the process of adding new strands to this in-progress raffia mat (dɛŋglɛ). Description reference: Table 5, No. 70.
