Nafana mat weaver (deŋglɛ tinfun) Alexander Owusu sits on a chair as he weaves a raffia mat (dɛŋglɛ). The woven section of the mat is rolled on a raffia palm petiole stick (gbandaa kaan), which keeps the working edge accessible as he works. A pile of dried raffia strands (pinde) lies in the foreground from which he picks new strands to add as he weaves from left to right. Sabiye, Banda District, Ghana.
