Ater the pot has dried for a night, the potter, Võ Thị Sương, adds the spout that she has formed with a thin slab of clay to the kettle. The spout is made up with the clay she just scraped out of the pot to thin the walls (preforming on leather-hard clay). Here she smoothes the edges of the spout over the body of the kettle. If necessary, she can add fresh clay to secure the junction.
