Balancing the hull after completion of main-hull planking

Boat builder Amol Mondal uses a split bamboo strip to measure the distance along the starboard curve of the hull from a datum that was marked on the keel at the time of the keel-and-post balancing process up to a corresponding chalk mark just made on the upper edge of the tenth strake. He will compare this with the corresponding distance on the port side.
