Balancing the hull after completion of main-hull planking

Boat builder Amol Mondal ties a marker string on a longitudinal overhead datum line directly above one of the datums marked on the keel at the time of the keel-and-post balancing process. He will run a bamboo cane from this overhead datum to the corresponding (chalk-marked) points in either sheer, to establish the degree of symmetry and need for correction.
