Master builder Osofo Kwame Mensah stands atop a wattle frame structure built on the grounds of the Banda Cultural Centre. He bends over as he slaps pads of daub onto a lattice of raffia sticks and wood poles that form the structure's ceiling. The ends of its wood poles are visible at the top of the daubed front wall, above the wood frames of a door and a window. The structure's side wall has been daubed to the central roof joist. A corrugated metal roofing sheet rests against the side wall. Builder Kwaku Nsuah stands on the ground holding a ball of daub, ready to toss it up to the master builder. Behind the wattle-and-daub building is an example of a cement block and metal-roofed building that has displaced construction using locally available materials. Banda-Ahenkro, Banda District, Ghana.
