Paper that has been treated with konnyaku and embossed using a method special to Shiroishi that creates 3D patterns on the paper. This pattern is called "shō-chiku-bai", which refers to the patterns of pine, bamboo, and plum trees. The technique used to make these sheets is called takuhon, and these sheets are called takuhonshi or takushi
