Nafana mat weaver (deŋglɛ tinfun) Alexander Owusu finishes the foundational pass in weaving a raffia mat (dɛŋglɛ). He holds a weft strand in place with his left thumb after wrapping an inward strand upward and outward in warp position over his left forefinger, now clamped in place with his left middle finger. In a next move, he will fold the outward strand to the left downward. Description reference: Table 2, No. 2 in "Making of a Raffia Palm Mat (Dɛŋglɛ), Sabiye, Banda District, Bono Region, Ghana." Sabiye, Banda District, Ghana.
