Firing pottery in Phù Mỹ village : adding fuel to the fire

After 5h of firing, the flames reach the level of the walls of the kiln. This is the sign that the firing is almost done. However, to make sure that the pots on the very top are well fired, Nguyễn Tấn Ánh inserts pieces of wood in the gaps of the third layer, to help the flames to go even higher. When the flames reach the top, they stop adding fuel to the fire.
