Fitting the first garboard

Boat builder Dipak Mondal (R) uses a bamboo lever, to press the first garboard plank against the starboard sided face of the keel for spiling and shaping. Brother Dilip (L) holds the end of the lever in place. Note the clamps holding the plank in approximate position.
