Fitting through beams in the bow

Sitting in the bow on an already fitted through beam, boat builders Dilip (L) and Manimohan (R) Mondal each use a hammer and chisel to cut a slot on the underside of a through beam. The slots will fit over the sub-sheer strakes (naba dali) and prevent lateral movement.
