Offerings to the deity are arrayed at the prow of the chhot boat following its launch. The items offered are: a white cotton saree with red border ,a red cloth, a (plastic) hibiscus garland, flowers, paddy, sweets, incense sticks, a mirror, alta (red dye) and sindur (vermilion), as well as sankha and pala (conch shell bangles and red coral bangles, symbols of marriage for Hindu women.
