Kurdish people used felt for shoe insole as demonstrated in this illustration. The outer part of the shoes were woven and were made of spun wool and the shoes' insoles were made of felt. They were used to be worn by people until the first quarter of twentieth century. They are not being made anymore; however, a few pairs can be found at museums in Kurdistan.
