Large jar (ancient product) in Quế An Village

In the past, men in the village used to make this type of jars to store water (called ảng). They stopped “a long time ago” and those jars were made by the women. The potter (VTS) used to make them. However, she now has knee problems that prevents her from making them. She explained that the technique to make those jar is similar to the technique she uses to make small pot, but not using the turntable. The jars are fashioned directly on the floor and let dry on the spot.
