The fire is lit before the loading starts. While Bùi Thị Lệ checks on the fire, Nguyễn Tấn Ánh add some more pottery sherds where he can see the flames through the layer of sherds already placed. This will protect the pots from the flames underneath. The other workers have already start bringing the pots around the kiln.
