Making a stemaing pot, kơl hôl piêng, in Yang Tao village : Decoration

Mai Kim is using a small stick of bamboo (mong mai dlah) to draw lines around the neck of the pot. We can see that the bottom of the pot is still a lump of clay. After finishing the decoration, the potter will hollow it to create the characteristic shape of the steaming pot bottom.

Mai Kim đang dùng một thanh tre nhỏ (mong mai dlah) vẽ những đường nét quanh cổ nồi. Chúng ta có thể thấy đáy nồi vẫn còn là một cục đất sét. Sau khi trang trí xong, người thợ gốm sẽ khoét rỗng đáy nồi để tạo hình dạng đặc trưng của đáy nồi hấp.
