Using her left hand as a support on the inside, Mai Kim (on the right) scrapes the outside of the pot with her fingertips while walking backward around the support. This action is called “pôi”. We can see that she also uses this action to curve the walls inward to give the final shape of the yang. At the same time, Yo Khoanh (on the left) smooths the outside of her jar with a bamboo stick called ‘ne’. This action is also called “pôi”.
