Making jars (yang) in Yang Tao village : Preparing the lump of clay 2

After pounding the clay until soft, Yo Khoanh gathers it and rolls it on the support until it forms a compact cylinder and places it on its base. The size of the cylinder depends on the size and shape of the intended pot. For this big jar, the cylinder is high and its top is slightly wider than its base. This cylinder of clay is called “lak uk” in Mnong.
