Making pot in Ki’Nonh village

Potter’s daughter, Zơrâm Thị Nga, (on the left) uses a slice of sugar can with her right hand on the inside of the pot and her left hand as support on the outside. She’s trying to make up for a bad initial build. Her mother, Bling Thị Thuáh is starting a new pot : a bowl. She has placed a cylinder of clay on a large leaf on the floor and, while turning around the lump, bended over it, she makes regular moves from the centre to the edge of the lump with her knuckle to dig up the cylinder and draw up the walls, using her left hand as support on the outside.
