Making pots, in Yang Tao village : spreading handfuls of clay around the edge to elevate the walls

Mai Kim and Yo Khoanh are pulling out handfuls of clay from the center of the lump and spread it on the edge of the pot. They repeat this operation all around the pot while turning around the support. Doing so, they not only elevate the pots but also hollow their initial lumps. The higher the intended pot, the higher they will elevate the wall : For the medium size dlah pay (cooking pot) that Mai Kim is making (on the left), she will only do one more turn. But for the yang (jar) made by Yo Khoanh (on the right), the walls will be elevated more.
