Manufacture and placement of a beehive or dana

Honey gathering is one of the key economic, social and symbolic practices among the Chabu and other minority groups along the Ethiopian-Sudanese borderland. In the picture, we can see a set of hives, each composed of two wooden halves made out of a hollowed out tree trunk.
