Marking up half-frames on an acacia timber

Boat builder Manimohan Mondal uses a length of yellow string to establish how many half-frames he will be able to make from a particularly large acacia timber. The small yellow string tied around the rod indicates the point of the sheer line, and hence the upper end of the required timber.
