Preforming a cooking pot (trà) in Phù Mỹ village 1/5: shaping of the rim

Bùi Thị Lệ sitting in front of her wheel has rough out a cooking pot. When the walls of the rough out have reach the desire height, the potter changes her grip on the cloth: She places her thumb on the inside, parallel to the edge of the pot. Her index first phalanx is placed over the edge while the tip of her fingers hold the cloth on the inside. Still spinning the wheel with her left hand, she presses the clay with her thumb against the second phalanx of her index, bending the rim outwards while the tip of her index finger creates a groove about 1cm below the edge.
