After the pot is dry enough to be handled without losing its shape, the form has to be perfected. The potter Bling Thị Thuáh scrapes the inside of the bowl with a tool made out of a slice of bamboo with both ends attached together to form a circle, called “kơté”. With this action, she takes out clay to thin out the walls and make the pot lighter. This also pushes slightly the form out to round the walls.
