Preforming on leather hard clay of the bottom of a small cooking pot in Ki’Nonh village 3/4

After the pot is dry enough to be handled without losing its shape, the form has to be perfected. Potter Bling Thị Thuáh has scraped the inside of the pot to thin the walls and push ou the bottom to round it. She has now turns the pots over and is scraping the outside with a tool made out of a slice of bamboo with both ends attached together to form a circle, called “kơté”. The potter holds the pot with her left hand and scraps the bottom of the bottom with the kơté, to perfect the shape.
