Nguyễn Thị Thủy has shaped the pot on the wheel. Before taking it out of the wheel, she uses a metalic circular tool, called vòng, with her right hand to even out the surface on the inside of the pot. She also uses a wooden tool, called cai so, on the outside as a support. Moving from bottom to top, the sharp edge of the vòng takes out the ridges inside the pot, making the surface smooth.
