The bottom of the pot has to be shaped after a drying time. It can be done only on a clay that is hard enough to be manipulated without losing its shape but still flexible enough to modify that shape. To preform the bottom, Y Gah has already take out clay from the inside of the foot with her thumb. She now uses a ring (of around 5cm in diameter) made of a thin slice of bamboo , called kong to scrape it. It makes the shape smooth and regular.

Việc tạo hình chỉ có thể được thực hiện trên một loại đất sét đủ cứng để thao tác mà không làm mất hình dạng, nhưng vẫn đủ dẻo để sửa đổi hình dạng đó. Để tạo hình phần đáy, Y Gah đã dùng ngón tay cái lấy đất sét từ bên trong phần đế ra. Bây giờ bà dùng một chiếc vòng tre mỏng (đường kính khoảng 5cm), gọi là kong, để cạo.
