Preforming the bottom of a bowl/lid in Kon Tơ Xing village : Scraping the outside of the bottom 2/2

The bottom of the pot has to be shaped after a drying time. It can be done only on a clay that is hard enough to be manipulated without losing its shape but still flexible enough to modify that shape. Y Gah has already shaped the inside of the foot. She now takes a ring (of around 5cm in diameter) made of a thin slice of bamboo , called kong. She uses it to scrape the outside of the foot to make the shape smooth and regular.
