Ma Liy takes the pot on her legs and, with her right hand inside, she slightly pushes the bottom out, using her left hand as a support on the outside to prevent it from breaking. She pushes the centre being pushed around 1-2cm out to give the bottom a rounded shape. She sometimes spreads a bit of clay to fill in the cracks created by the pushing. After that, she will use some tools to to perfect the round shape and smooth the surface before putting the pot back to drying.
