Preparing coil in Kon Tơ Xing village 2/3

Y Gah prespares a coil by pressing clay between her hands. She will add it on top of the current shape to make it higher. It is interesting to note that, from our observation, Y Khao rolls the coil to shape them, but, Y Gah do not and only presses handfuls of clay together. At the same time, Y Khao is shaping the pot. With her left hand inside as a support, she uses her right hand’s fingers to scratch the outer surface in order to close up the cracks that appears when she pushes out the walls. It also helps to even the thickness of the walls.
