Endangered Material Knowledge Programme researchers Zonke Guddah (left) and Patrick Mensah (right) set up a camera tripod in preparation for documenting the raffia mat (dɛŋglɛ) weaving technique of Nafana mat weaver (deŋglɛ tinfun) Alexander Owusu. An in-progress mat wrapped on a raffia palm petiole stick (gbandaa kaan) rests against the chair where Alexander will sit as he works. Several onlookers relax against a nearby tree.
