After completing row 8 and in preparation for weaving row 9 of a basketry fish trap (exa) body, Ewe fisherman Dzobo Reuben stands on top of the unfinished trap body. He pulls up on its sides and shakes the unwoven bamboo (pamplo ti) sticks in a motion that causes them to cross one another. This makes it easier for him to combine sticks in the next woven row.
