The potter has to thin the walls of the cooking pot. Before doing so, she makes a few ajustement on the outer shape of the bottom. She uses a wooden paddle called a tơrnap gently pats the walls of the pots. With this move, she compresses the clay here and there to rectify the roundess of the bottom.
