Nafana youth Godfred Kwaku stands, bent at the waist, holding a piece of wood with which he hammers a wood pole lying on the ground in order to loosen and remove its bark. The wood was harvested from farm fields to construct the frame for a wattle-and-daub structure being built on the grounds of the Banda Cultural Centre. To the left, poles that have been stripped of their bark lie on the ground. To the right are poles that have yet to be stripped. Branches removed from the poles are stacked behind where he stands.
