Rope configuration on the chhot lever system

The yellow rope shows clearly the configuration of the rope of the plank-leverage system as it runs under the hull (here at the bow). The left (starboard) side passes around the fulcrum end of the lever in a clove hitch; the right (port) side loops around an anchoring timber resting on the edge of the hull.
