Roughing out a bassin (chàu) in Phù Mỹ village 6/9: spreading the second coil

Nguyễn Thị Phương has spread the second coil around the bottom. Closing her fist, she moistens the circle formed by the thumb and forefinger of her right hand. Then, with an internal rotation of the wrist, she uses the inside of her right index finger to smooth the inside wall against the palm of her left hand, which is open against the outside wall. She spins the wheel using her right big toe and the pressure of her left hand on the rough out and repeats the movement until she has made one full revolution on the lower part of the coil and one full revolution on the higher part (here the higher part).
