Roughing out of a cooking pot, dlah pay, in Yang Tao village : spreading handfuls of clay around the edge to elevate the walls

Mai Kim pulls out a handfuls of clay from the center of the lump and spreads it on the edge to elevate the walls. She repeats this operation all around the pot while turning around the support. Doing so, she not only elevates the pots but also hollows the initial lump. The higher the intended pot, the higher she will elevate the wall : For the medium size dlah pay that she is making, she will only do one more turn.
