The potter, Võ Thị Sương, is roughing out the bottom of the pot by rapping the clay patty, using the back of her wrist (right hand), while turning the wheel (left hand ; clockwise). Two turns are enough. Her granddaughter and a friend are watching. This step of the process is the same for all types of the final product.
