Ma Ly has shaped the body of the vase. She now makes sure that the upper part of the pot is regular. To do so, she uses her fingers to roughly cut the rim or add a bit of clay to regularise the height of the pot. Then she wil use her wetted hands to smooth the rim, turning around the pot with her thumbs on the inside and her fingers on the outside to smooth the rim.
