Ma Ly has created a rough out by drawing of a lump. She now make sure that the upper part of the pot is regular. To do so, she she uses her wet hand to smooth the rim, turning around the pot with her thumbs on the inside and her fingers on the outside. This action prepares the rim to be shaped.
