Archival photographs of someone using a spinning wheel to evenly twist paper into threads/yarns and into skeins for weaving, circa 1950s, photo likely taken by Nobumitsu Katakura. Adzuki beans are placed with the threads/yarns as they are spun to keep them from tangling. The following step would be to steam or boil the skeins to set the twist
