A coursed earth atakpame structure is being built on the grounds of the Banda Cultural Centre, the yellow wall of which is visible to the left. The coursed earth building will consist of a single room (back) and a porch (front) surrounded by a low wall. A single course has been added to the foundation level and a second course to the walls of the main room, the latter visible as darker earth atop a lighter course. In the background are cement block and metal-roof structures of the kind that have displaced building with locally available materials over recent decades. Banda-Ahenkro, Banda District, Ghana.
