Supporting the stem post

boat builder Amol Mondal uses a hammer to drive a nail through a hole drilled through the lower half of the hooked scarf joint connecting the stem post to the keel. The hole will allow the keel-and-post structure to be anchored to the support timber, and will later accommodate a locking element.
