Surface treatment in Phù Mỹ village 2/2 : smoothing the inside of cooking pots (trà)

The cooking pots have been left to dry for a whole night and smoothed on the inside. They have then dried for 3h more to have a leather-hard consistency. Then Nguyễn Tấn Ánh has taken one of them and scrape the outside, using the bamboo circular tool (cái khót) to make the wall thinner and round the bottom and walls of the pot. He now exchanges his tool for a circular piece of plastic, cut out of a plastic can, and rubs it on the inside wall of the pot. He repeats the same action on the outside with a recangular piece of plastic. This tool is only used since 2021. Before that, they used a bamboo tool, similar to the cái khót, but with a handle and blunt edges. However, the plastic tools are faster and produce a better result.
