The pots are loaded into a low box-like timer frame that is quickly constructed constructed on hot embers, allowing it to catch fire quickly, which it is encouraged to do from one side so that the fire travels in a linear direction, thereby ensuring that firing time is roughly equal for all pots, as those fired first are also removed first for quenching.
