Unloading the pottery kiln in Thanh Hà village : Buyer checking the quality of the pots

During the unloading of the kiln, the buyers pile up the pots on the road by types of pot. To check their quality, they knock each of them with their knuckles: if the pot echoes, it is good. If not, it means that there is a crack (Broken pots are set aside then disposed of on the bank of the river). The buyers also count the pots of each type and write down the number with a white chalk on the bottom of one pot. After that, they divide the products between them.
