Ewe fisherman Dzobo Reuben sits on a low stool as he weaves the final row (eleven) of a basketry fish trap (exa) body. He holds the trap down with his left foot as he weaves. He is narrowing the trap body at its apex (exa-gɔmɛ) by bundling eight bamboo (pamplo ti) sticks between twists of dried, twisted but unpounded vine rope (adzɔ) as he weaves. Leaning against the shed behind him is the body of partially finished trap with narrower gaps between its sticks than the one on which Dzobo Reuben works. Akanyakrom, Banda District, Ghana.
